We are preparing to enter the strangest holiday season in my lifetime.  As I write this, there is controversy over the results of the recent election, there is word that Maryland may go back into more restrictions on gatherings if the number of virus cases continues to increase, Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away, and Christmas is just around the corner.  I just heard about an edict in one of the western states which forbids members of more than 3 distinct family groups to come together for the holidays and that meals must be eaten outdoors (now there's an edict which won't translate to life in the mid-atlantic region!).

Until we hear differently from state and local governments, Lighthouse Ministries will continue to meet both in person at the church and online every Sunday for worship and most Wednesday evenings for Bible Study (there are a few Wednesdays which are not scheduled due to the holiday hustle and bustle; check our Events Calendar to see which days we will be meeting).  Current guidelines give us more than enough capacity to accomodate everyone who has expressed a desire to meet in person, as well as ample room for visitors.  So, if you are a potential visitor who has been holding back because of uncertainties around capacity, please join us!  We'd love to see you!

If the situation should change and we need to go back to a more restricted attendance (like when we were only permitted 10 people in the building during much of the late spring//early summer), we will let you all know.  We still have the capacity for parking lot services (where folks drive to the church and tune to 106.1FM to hear the service) and we will certainly do that if needed (a not-well-guarded secret is that we are still turning on the transmitter every Sunday, so even now you can join us in the parking lot if you'd prefer not to enter the building).

But one point I want to make is this (and, yes, Pastor Hamby absolutely agrees with this): We will meet -- physically if possible, but virtually for certain (as long as service providers don't fall over) -- every Sunday at 10:30 AM ET!  We are here.  We will stay here. Even under extreme lockdown, we will have some sort of stream go out at the usual time.  We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together.  If we cannot do it physically, we will do it in Virtual Church.

So if you are not a member here, please be assured that we will be here -- virtually at a minimum -- even if the lockdowns return.  And we intend to continue meeting in person to the fullest extent allowed by law.  So if you don't know where to go for the holidays this year, please join us!  We'll be worshipping the Lord and you are welcome to come and do likewise!  God bless you!
