It's amazing!

During a pandemic and a weak economy, when there is pressure on people to be careful with funds, we successfully raised $3800 to upgrade the video screens in the sanctuary!  And we did it so fast, I didn't even have enough time to write an actual blog about the project!  Praise God!

For people who may not know, we currently have a ceiling-mounted projector which displays our songs and videos on a pull-down screen in the front of the sanctuary.  It's functional technology, but it's decades old.  And, unfortunately, the screen obscures a cross which was built into the brickwork in the center of the wall.

After prayerful consideration, we decided to raise funds for replacing this system with two large TVs located on either side of the cross.  This will allow us to eliminate the need for the original projector and screen, as well as upgrading the clarity of the videos in the process.  The new system will permit us to use current technology to a greater overall effect while eliminating the deficits of the old system (ever try changing a projector bulb 25 feet in the air? it's not a task we will miss!).

But the truly amazing part is that Pastor only announced the project about 2 months ago.  It took us a couple weeks to get rolling on the campaign, but we've already made the goal!  Thank you to everyone who heard God's call to help out in providing funds!

Next we will find and purchase the TVs.  Then comes mounting -- we want to make sure we get that done right, for obvious reasons.  Once that occurs, our first phase of implementation will be to have the two screens working in unison controlled by the current video output switcher.  The second phase will allow us to control them independently.  If needed, the third phase will be to upgrade the video output switcher so it can produce an even higher resolution signal (the current switcher is limited to an older SVGA standard).  A future project will be to upgrade the laptops and videos so we can maximize the overall effect, but that will wait until we can assess the effectiveness of the current project.

Thank you to all who gave!  And thanks to Almighty God for providing the givers who saw the need to make this happen!  Stay tuned for more updates!
